Neo Coolcam Motion Sensor (5in1)

Competition/buyer's guide/comparison

There are of course a lot of motion sensors. You have them from Fibaro, Hank, Xiaomi, Aeotec and many more. There are just not that many 5in1 sensors and certainly not that many that can be powered by a USB adapter.

You actually only have 1 competitor and that is the Aeotec Multisensor 6. This has a built-in UV sensor compared to the Neo Coolcam. So it also has the light, motion and temperature sensor. Both have a tamper alarm. Aeotec does this by using a vibration sensor and the Neo Coolcam by checking whether the cover is open/closed.

So are there any differences? Yes, of course. The Aeotec is really a lot smaller with its 42mm size. The Neo Coolcam has the plus that it is a lot cheaper with its 35 euros (the Aeotec 60.00 euros).

So which one should you choose? If you go for the cheapest and you care less about the large, the Neo Coolcam is the best. If you want to go small and if you have a slightly larger wallet, you can pick up the Aeotec.
