Add devices:

Now that everything is connected, it is important to add devices, because without this the remote is a nice boomerang. I will start by adding some infrared devices.

Onkyo 509 amplifier:

You can add devices via the APP. You can arrange this immediately after startup by pressing "Add device or service". The first question is what kind of device you are going to add. In our case this is an Infrared device. Then he asks what kind of device and where you live. The next screen shows a search bar and the most common brands. Because we have chosen the 'amplifier', we immediately see Onkyo. If you click on this you will get a list of type numbers. It is striking that there is a considerable database behind it. We select the TXNR509 and the correct data is downloaded immediately. After this we can create scenes. More on this later.

Of course I immediately tested some buttons and they all work as they should.

Philips TV:

Via the same steps I added my television and it all works as it should.

Popcorn Hour A200:

It is usually difficult for this media player to find the right buttons, but it is also added without problems.

Remote control:

As you can see, infrared devices are added without any problems. What is striking is that you have to point the remote properly at the device you want to operate. This is because it does not have an IR blaster such as with the Logitech Harmony.

In learning devices:

In addition to a fixed set of devices available, you can also learn a new one with the old remote control.

"Personalize everything"

A cool feature of this remote is that you can assemble the various screens yourself. So if you find it useful to have the channels and a certain input next to each other then you can arrange this.

IP devices:

The next device I want to add is the Nest thermostat. You can do this by going to the "add device and services" screen and then clicking Nest.
