Philips HUE Bridge 2.0

Frequently Asked Questions:

Can I connect a hue lamp behind a dimmer?

A hue lamp cannot be dimmed with a dimmer, this is at the expense of the lamp's life. Even if the original dimmer is at maximum, this can affect the functioning of the hue lamp. For example, this regularly leads to the search for the lamp. It is therefore advisable not to connect a hue lamp behind a dimmer. Dimming of specific lamps can be done with different hue accessories or hue app.

Can I operate lamps without a smartphone?

Philips hue has various accessories with which you can operate your hue lamps. So you have the hue dimmer and the hue tap. You can easily connect these handy switches to the same bridge and configure them with the hue app. You can also connect the Philips Hue Bridge 2.0 with different controllers and thus also control the light with speech or rules.

I read on the internet that the Philips Hue Hub is hackable and that my entire network is at risk?

The latest hack has already been solved by Philips in the latest firmware, so always make sure you have the latest firmware. You can do this by turning on automatic update at a certain time in the settings.
Unfortunately, for all IOT devices, mobiles and computers, a new hack will always be found, you are only completely safe if it cannot be connected and therefore no longer functions. Always keep the latest updates on your products and keep an eye on the news for hacks that haven't been resolved yet.

What can Philiips Hue do that I may not know?

The Philiips Hue has an App for Windows and Mac OS to simulate the light from your computer screen. So you can make your computer screen like the Philips TV with background light, here you can download the app: https://www2.meethue.com/en-us/app
